I was always surrounded by the design, marketing, and advertising culture. Being that my father was one of the very few graphic designers on Hilton Head Island in its prime stages of commercial development (1980-1990s), now, when I visit home, it is like being in my father’s virtual portfolio. You name it, he branded it!

Given my passion for art and creative design, it was only natural that I would follow in my father's footsteps with ambitions to one day be as skilled as he was. After visiting several colleges while in high school, I decided on Flagler College in the beautiful city of St. Augustine, FL. Flagler gave me a wealth of knowledge and a solid foundation as I pursued my BA in Graphic Design and a double minor in Fine Arts and advertising.

Following college, I returned to Hilton Head where I immersed myself in the marketing world as the lead designer for a residential realty group, followed by SERG Restaurant Group which is the largest employer on Hilton Head Island. After working with these groups for numerous years to perfect my craft, I relocated to Charleston, SC, and started working for a commercial real estate company. As the very first creative professional brought on board, I assisted the firm by creating a co-brand within its franchise brand. I focused on upgrading their branding packages for the retail, office, and industrial disciplines. I did this while helping them win many large accounts by implementing my strategic proposal, design, and marketing tactics.

I had sought out and was blessed to get in the door at CBRE in early 2020 as a full-time, remote, graphic designer for a national project management team headquartered in Atlanta, GA. Now, a little over 4 years later, I am currently positioned within the CBRE | Occupier National Marketing team working as one of their Senior Graphic Designers, and have been so for over a year. With over 2 decades of ‘on-the-job’ design and marketing experience, I use my institutional knowledge to support my team with their internal and external projects. They pursue accounts for Fortune 100 & Fortune 500 Occupiers and I enjoy collaborating with the BD Managers, sometimes the Solution Leaders, and other work colleagues.

I pride myself in the collection of knowledge and skills I have gathered on the job throughout the past few decades but also pride myself on keeping up with the rapidly evolving technology with AI, software, and application updates. I even consider this to be a “secret weapon” of sorts. Being challenged is when I perform my best and I never pass up a chance to problem-solve, troubleshoot, or figure out a “workaround.” I love to learn and grow for I am like a sponge, presently teaching myself the piano, taking golf lessons, and lifting weights with my trainer. I am a proud member of the CBRE Creative Talent Platform’s Hiring & Onboarding team for 2024.

So far in my career, I have created and strategized marketing and design for everything from restaurants, boutique startups, printing/sign shops, CRE firms, project management teams, and now, national business development occupiers. I have created a CEROS experience all about my journey and it can be found here. My only goal right now is to continue growing within my design, marketing, and creative career. It is truly a blessing to LOVE what I do for a living every day! I am always excited to connect with other creatives and fellow work colleagues, and just about anyone with a thirst for knowledge like myself, so whether you just want to say “hello” or need support in any way, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at jbdavisdesign@gmail.com.
